Parents’ Night Out (aka Kids’ Night Out) is a safe and positive opportunity for everyone to get out of the house and spend time with others. The purpose of Parent’s Night Out is for everyone to have fun. We want the children who take part to enjoy their time with us and we want adults to be able to spend an evening out without worries.

What We Offer:

Supervision: Hanabi Judo is staffed with adults and teenagers who are responsible and have experience working with children.

Snacks: Popcorn will be provided during the movie.

Games: The Hanabi staff organize games that allow the children to be safe and actively play on the mat. There will be building and construction toys at the back table. No balls allowed!

Judo: Children are encouraged to wear their judo gi if they want to play judo with other kids. Sensei has extra gi tops if someone wants to do judo but did not bring theirs. The emphasis of this night is on having fun, so our playtime and instruction are tailored to your child’s needs and limitations.

Movie: Every PNO we show G-rated movies that are appropriate for children and enjoyable for all.

Pizza: We charge an optional $5 for All-You-Can-Eat Pizza! We’ll order the pizza in advance and have it at the dojo so everyone can sit down to eat together.

Dan who is in charge of the Dojo is very nice and welcoming. Even though our kids were not in the printed list due to server error he was very helpful in the matter to make sure everything was in order. Our kids had a wonderful time in attending the parents night out and told us they wanted to do it again. This was there first time being with other kids out for an evening that were not family or close friends. It was good to get them out of there comfort zone. I even explained this to Dan and he said not to worry they would do just fine. I can't wait to have our daughter do a free day trail at the Dojo itself to see if she wants to enroll in classes. BTW our kids are 4 and 8 for reference.

Lilian Miwa - My usually difficult 11 year old loves Hanabi! He's learned judo, Japanese writing and culture and he has fun! And as a mom of 3 kids with full time employment, I love how flexible it is. We can choose to do in person for a week and do online camp the next week when things are hectic. All my kids are too young to be vaccinated, so I'm always concerned about COVID safety precautions, but I feel confident with Hanabi. Domo arigato!!

Hanabi judo has the best virtual summer camp you can imagine! It is engaging and the kids don’t spend all the time glued to the screen because there are physical and art activities. They also get some much needed socialization with other kids. The instructors are patient and pay a lot of individual attention to each kid. Fantastic program!
